Proud of her NH roots, carries an artistic versatility and fervor to create and express life experiences through movement. Her career path has afforded her a multitude of opportunities to choreograph, teach, and perform throughout the U.S., Vienna, Costa Rica, Belgium, France, Japan, and Armenia.
Joyce established JKing Dance Company, (JKDC), in 2008, self producing four JKDC seasons at The Ailey Citigroup Theater – The Joan Weill Center for Dance in 2012 – 2015, receiving press acknowledgement. It is through these performances, King offered young emerging dancers the opportunity of rehearsing and performing along side the company.
She is a recipient of the BUILD grant, The Field Artist residency and awarded Top Audience Pick for choreography at Dixon Place/NYC10. Additionally, Joyce has been commissioned to present work as part of special performances at Florence Gould Hall, DIXON Place, Symphony Space, DNA, Merce Cunningham Dance Theater, Pinkerton Academy Theatre Arts, Palace Theatre, Dansstage Dance Festival; Auditorio Nacional and Teatro Eugene O’Neil Theaters in Costa Rica. Commercially her work has been presented as part of NYC Fashion week – Louis Vuitton’s Life is A Journey’ and Style Pointe Fashion and Dance.
